About

After finishing college in advertising and design, I joined an agency called, KlientBoost, designing landing pages for clients in various industries: SaaS, lead gen, ecommerce, content marketing, etc. I learned to build responsive websites, A/B test to optimize conversion rates, and manage client relationships. I went on to manage brand design for the agency, establishing a really impactful visual identity. We saw a team of 3 to grow into 40+ designers and account managers.

Wanting a career shift toward tech, I joined a pharma company called Evolus (beauty, aesthetic medicine) designing their digital products (a customer-facing iPhone app, and an internal sales tool iPad app). I had a really great manager, a former Microsoft guy. He helped sharpen my UX thinking, and matured my ability to frame a project end-to-end (in the way expected of a senior designer).

I wasn’t there long before I met the Cofounder of Community. He invited me to join as their first product designer. We moved fast, I designed core features, and established design foundations for their iPhone, Android, and responsive web apps. Design grew from just me to a team of four (as the company grew to 300+). I found a new passion for design ops taking on the new designers’ onboarding and mentorship. I spent time pair-designing with them, transferring cursory knowledge, and empowering them as much as I could as they’d each own different verticals across the company.

Later, I got the opportunity to join an early-stage SaaS company called Calixa. I led product design for their dashboard web application focused on supporting modern sales teams integrating customer data across workflows for: sales, marketing, rev ops, etc.

Personal Life

Growing up in Mammoth Lakes, CA, skateboarding and snowboarding sparked my love for design.

As a kid, I tore through magazines like Transworld and Snowboarder. In junior high, I got a job working rentals at a local snowboard shop. I had a front-row seat studying my favorite brands. I found a real culture that spoke to me, and design is what made me feel a part of it.

I didn’t know back then that the medium was about to change in a big way, and instead of magazines or VHS tapes, I’d find a passion for websites and software.

These days I live in SoCal with my wife, and when I’m not on my computer, you’ll find me out riding my gravel bike.
